Woman and Teen Daughter Suicide Suspected After Found Hanging in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh

According to a police officer on Thursday, a 35-year-old lady and her adolescent daughter were discovered hanged in their Dhamtari city, Chhattisgarh, home.

According to the source, on Wednesday night, the bodies of Khushbu Sharma and her 13-year-old daughter, who are thought to have committed suicide, were discovered in the Shiv Chowk home under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station.

As per preliminary information, the woman had divorced her husband six years ago and was staying at her parental home with her daughter. She was working as a teacher in a private school but had lost her job recently after which she went into depression. We believe it is a case of suicide but the exact cause of death will be known from the post mortem report,” he said.

No suicide note was found at the spot, though prima facie it seems financial problems prompted the woman to take this extreme step, the official added.
